Paris 2009

When Jemma and I were in Paris this summer we went to visit the village of Montmatre, a place which in the past has been home to artists such as Pablo Picasso and Henri Toulouse-Lautrec. It's a really good place to visit and I'd recommend it to anyone. Evereywhere you go there are people painting in the street and all the shops are full of old French posters.

I love the illustrative style in the first two but I particularly like this old photograph of the Moulin Rouge. I love looking at photos of the Moulin Rouge as everything is so over the top to try and emphasise how luxurious the place was.

I later found these postcards which combine two of my favourite things, retro adverts and vintage cars....

I thought that these three were particularly interesting as they're all cars that have recently been re-designed and released so you can compare these ads with the way they are advertised now.

Kino4

Considering I had a fight with my printer and it decided to print things out in different shades than I had chosen I thought I'd put my kino posters on here...

I came up with this because I was getting frustrated being contained to the computer so I tried a different approach by making text from different things and I was pleased with the results. I think I'll try this approach again.

Mini Car Wraps...

I came across this brief in Grafik which was to design car wraps for mini coopers. The idea being that customers could choose from a range of 25 designs to make their car seem more personal.
When I looked at the existing examples I realised that they were all aimed at men, but I couldn't imagine any man wanti
ng this on their car.
Therefore I decided to aim my design at w
omen. I wanted to make the design seem as if it was moving and flowing which lead me to come up with this....

I really enjoyed this project and I will definately be looking out for more similar ones in the future.
(Obviously the colours aren't supposed to be like this, blogspot has done that for me so if anyone knows how to prevent this please let me know!
)
