Paris 2009

When Jemma and I were in Paris this summer we went to visit the village of Montmatre, a place which in the past has been home to artists such as Pablo Picasso and Henri Toulouse-Lautrec. It's a really good place to visit and I'd recommend it to anyone. Evereywhere you go there are people painting in the street and all the shops are full of old French posters.

I love the illustrative style in the first two but I particularly like this old photograph of the Moulin Rouge. I love looking at photos of the Moulin Rouge as everything is so over the top to try and emphasise how luxurious the place was.

I later found these postcards which combine two of my favourite things, retro adverts and vintage cars....

I thought that these three were particularly interesting as they're all cars that have recently been re-designed and released so you can compare these ads with the way they are advertised now.
